After reading about the history of THE STRUCTURE OF GLUCOSE, I thought of constructing all 3‑D models. so I started making the first model – “open chain structure of Glucose” from refills and beads. It was looking nice but it was again looking like a 2‑D model. So I gave off this idea.
Then one day when I started reading about tessellations on MATHIGON, I also learned that we can make 3‑D models by connecting similar or different types of regular polygons using origami.
As I flipped its pages, I recalled old memories when I used to make things with my sister. It’s really fascinating that even without scissors and glue you can make so many beautiful and complex structures. Then I tried to make some models by following the instructions written in it.
I and my sister loved to make the flower‑model. But off‑course I have forgotten all this so it took some time to re‑learn it.
Soon I will start making paper models of polyhedra and molecules. Can’t wait!
